Library Account

The library account is the number below the barcode on your library card. To login, you need to type in the number without the leading zeros.

Password

As newly registered user the default password is your date of birth. To login, you have to type in your date of birth in six digits: DDMMYY (day day month month year year).

Changing your Password

To change your password, click on Account or Log on and login to our catalogue. Under "User details" - "Change password", you can enter your new password.
Your password should not contain any special character or umlaut and no blanks.

Forgot your Password

On the web page where you can log on to our catalogue, you can also find the link "Forgot your password?". Enter your user ID. You will receive an email with your new password. Change this password as described above.

Validity of your Library Card

On collection, your library card is directly valid for borrowing, renewing and reserving items from our own stock and from the Digital Library (for interlibrary loans). Usually, you can also use our internet workstations directly, although it may take an hour or two for your account to be activated.

Uni Account

Students of TU Dortmund receive their Uni account (Example: smjohdoe) and the appropriate Password together with the UniMail address.
The Uni account is not printed on the UniCard!
