Which Items can I borrow?
Most of our stock can be borrowed. Exceptions and exclusions:

- Books in the Departmental Libraries can be borrowed longer by academic staff, all other users can only borrow these books as a short loan (overnight or weekend loan).
The loan periods for items from the Departmental Libraries of Economics and Social Sciences (BW) / Mechanical Engineering (BMB) are the same as the loan periods of the Central Library.
Excluded from borrowing:
- Journals
- Works from the reference collection

How can I reserve books and other media?
You can reserve borrowed items directly from our catalogue.
You can see in the full display if an item is borrowed. In this case, you might see "on loan until ... (reservation total: 0)" and would be the first one to reserve the item.
- Reserve any copy of an item by selecting the button "Reservation". You will automatically receive the next copy that is returned. This is only possible if there is only one copy or if all copies of an item are borrowed.
- You can also select a specific copy. In this case, you reserve a specific copy which you will receive on its return even if other copies are returned sooner. This way of reserving items should thus only be used if there is no "Reservation" button (see above).
To reserve an item, you will have to enter your library account / Uni-Account and password and then click on "OK". You will receive an email or a letter as soon as the item is returned so that you can collect it at the reservations shelf.
