Library Card

Registration

To borrow library material or to use the interlibrary lending system you need a library card. Access to the internet within the library is also only available for registered users except TU Dortmund students. They use the UniCard 2.0 as library card and their Uni account to get internet access or to use the interlibrary lending system.

You have to acknowledge receipt of the library card by your signature. By your signature you also agree to the library regulations.

The annual fee for external users and companies is 20,00 €. For all other users the application is free of charge.

Necessary Documents

For identification please bring with you the following documents:

Apply Online for a Library Card and Collect it after 24 Hours

You can fill in the application form online. You will receive a confirmation by email. You need a valid email address for applying online. We will also send future notifications (e.g. reminders) to this email address. As a rule you can collect your library card on the following day during the opening hours of the Lending Services in the Central Library. Please bring your passport and all other necessary documents (see above) with you. If you have not collected your new card within three months your account will be deleted.

  1. Registration for students in North Rhine-Westphalia (list of universities). TU Dortmund students use the UniCard 2.0 as library card.
  2. Registration for staff members of the TU Dortmund and the University of Applied Sciences Dortmund
  3. Registration for staff members of other universities and colleges in North Rhine-Westphalia (list of universities)
  4. Registration for external users (Annual fee: € 20,00)
  5. Registration for companies (Annual fee: € 20,00)
